Peter Josef Weber

Peter Josef Weber (born May 22, 1750 in Montabaur , † July 1, 1821 in Trier ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian and clergyman .

Life

Weber attended the Montabaur high school . He then studied theology from 1769 in Koblenz and at the University of Trier . In 1773 he was ordained a priest . In 1777 he took a reputation as a Professor of Moral Theology at the Theological Faculty of the University of Trier to, the following year, 1778, he was appointed Dr. theol. PhD . After the faculty of the university was merged with the seminary in Trier , his chair fell away.

Weber was first pastor of the community in Niedererbach . However, he was quickly drawn back to the apprenticeship. In 1782 he became a teacher again. Now as a moral theologian at the seminar and grammar school in Koblenz. He also became a member of the school commission. After the seminar was closed, he taught again in Trier from 1784 until the university was closed by the French in 1798. As early as 1785 he was appointed librarian of the seminar and university library in Trier. From 1786 to 1802 he was clergyman at the vicariate general in Trier before teaching moral theology at the Trier seminary from 1804 to 1816 or until 1821.

Weber was canon in Pfalzel from 1789 to 1802 and from 1810 canon of the Trier diocese .
