David Hormoz Odenthal-Ghadamgahi (born March 16, 1979 in Cologne ) is a German football coach and former player.

career

Odenthal, who also did swimming at competitive level, began his football career with the Cologne Crocodiles and played for Cologne until 2000.In his last year he became German champions with the team. From 2000, the 1.88 meter tall, on the positions offensive guard and center used player at the University of Toledo in the United States . His trainer from Cologne, Kirk Heidelberg , held an assistant coaching position at the same university in the early 1990s. Odenthal was a member of the local football university team and studied international economics.

In 2005 he returned to Germany and joined the Düsseldorf Panthers ( GFL ). Also in 2005 he won the World Games with the German national team and silver at the European champions. In 2006 Odenthal was in NFL Europe with the Cologne Centurions and in 2007 in the same league with the Düsseldorf team Rhein Fire . He took part with the national team in the 2007 World Cup and won the bronze medal there.

In 2007 he took over the managerial position at the Cologne Falcons , was still responsible for the offensive line on the GFL team's coaching staff (since 2006) and also got involved in the club's work as a youth coach. In December 2007 he was also appointed to the coaching staff of the German junior national team, where he was responsible for the offensive line. In late July 2011, he became the head coach of the Falcons men's team after René Ninety went to the United States. Odenthal subsequently remained head coach and made it to the top German league, the GFL, with the team in 2012. He also held the office of 1st chairman at the Cologne Falcons. In 2011 he led Cologne's youngsters to win the German youth championship.

In June 2013 Odenthal became head coach of the Cologne Crocodiles. Under his leadership, they rose to the second division in the 2013 game year. In February 2015, Odenthal gave up his position as head coach at Cologne for personal and professional reasons. In 2016, Odenthal returned to the Crocodiles' coaching staff and took on the task of coordinating the attacking game. In this position he contributed to the GFL resurgence in 2016.
