David Rankin (* 1946 in Plymouth , England ) is an Australian painter.

David Rankin grew up in Australia . His artistic roots lie with Paul Klee . He had his first exhibition at the age of 22 in Sydney . He is married to the writer Lily Brett and lives in New York City .

In 1983 he won the Wynne Prize .
