David Riniker

David Riniker (born January 4, 1970 in Basel ) is a Swiss cellist and musician with the Berliner Philharmoniker .

biography

From the age of six, David Riniker was a student of Jean-Paul Guéneux, with whom he completed his undergraduate studies at the age of nineteen "with distinction". Three years later he graduated from Antonio Meneses' concert class at the Music Academy of the City of Basel with a soloist diploma. Master classes with Arto Noras, Boris Mironowitsch Pergamenschtschikow , Wolfgang Boettcher and David Geringas rounded off his training.

He won various prizes at the Swiss Youth Music Competition. In 1988 he represented Switzerland at the 4e Tournoi Eurovision des Jeunes Musiciens in Amsterdam , in 1989 at the European Youth Prize in Varna / Provadija ( Bulgaria ), where he was awarded the third prize.

David Riniker gives concerts as a soloist and chamber musician in most of Europe, as well as America, China and Japan. Recordings were made for radio, records and CDs. David Riniker has been a member of the Berlin Philharmonic since 1995 and plays in various chamber formations, such as the Breuninger Quartet, the Oblomow Trio, the Philharmonic String Trio and the 12 cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic .
