Davide Faraci (born September 5, 1991 in Leuggern ) is an Italian professional boxer who boxed for Switzerland as an amateur .

Amateur career

Davide Faraci was born in Switzerland to Italian parents and grew up bilingually. The dual citizen began boxing in 2002, was a member of the Swiss national team from 2008 to 2016 and played over 150 fights. In addition to his amateur career, he worked as an automation engineer .

He became Swiss junior lightweight and welterweight champion in 2007, 2008 and 2009, and Swiss middleweight champion in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013. In 2014 and 2015 he was the Swiss runner-up in the light heavyweight division. His greatest international successes were the third place in the middleweight division in the European Olympic qualification in April 2012 in Trabzon (semi-final defeat against Adem Kılıççı ), as well as the third place in the middleweight division at the U22 European Championships in December 2012 in Kaliningrad (semi-final defeat against Denis Radovan ).

At the European Olympic qualification in April 2016 in Samsun , he was eliminated in the first fight against Max van der Pas from the Netherlands. He then started in June 2016 in the global Olympic qualification in Baku , where he reached the round of 16 against Pedro Lima and Nick Abaka, but was defeated there by Arslanbek Achilov.

Professional career

Davide Faraci made his professional debut in Bern on December 26, 2016, defeating Kristof Mate by knockout. In June 2019, he won the Italian light heavyweight championship.
