The Davis Ice Rise is a 6 km long ice dome in Marie Byrd Land in West Antarctica . It rises eight miles southeast of Mayo Peak near the mouth of Smith Glacier on the Walgreen Coast .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1966 as well as Landsat images from the years 1972 to 1973. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him after Commander Arthur R. Davis of the US Navy, supply officer in Operation Deep Freeze between 1975 and 1976 and from 1976 to 1977.
