Davy Arnaud (born June 22, 1980 in Nederland , Texas ) is a former American football player on the positions of striker and midfielder , who last played at DC United in Major League Soccer .

There he worked as an assistant coach from March 3, 2016, before moving to Houston Dynamo in early 2017 .

Club career

college

Arnaud played at West Texas A&M University from 1999 to 2001. He scored a total of 31 goals and prepared 3.

Kansas City Wizards

In the 2002 MLS SuperDraft, he was drafted by the Kansas City Wizards . In his first year, he only played 43 minutes in three games. His second year as a professional began similarly, but he was able to prevail over the course of the season and played a total of 18 times and scored 3 goals. In his third season with the Wizards, he became a regular after Preki and Igor Simutenkov were injured. Together with Josh Wolff, with whom he formed the storm duo of the Wizs, he was instrumental in achieving first place in the Western Conference in 2004.

Before the 2010 season he was named captain of the team by coach Peter Vermes .

Montreal Impact

On November 28, 2011, he moved to Montreal Impact in exchange for defender Seth Sinovic . He was also named captain of the team. On March 17, 2012, Arnaud scored the first goal in the history of the Major League Soccer Impacts at the Stade Olympique in Montreal.

DC United

On December 10, 2013, Arnaud moved to DC United . Montreal received an international roster slot for this.

National team

He played his first game for the US national team in 2007 in a friendly against the Brazilian selection at Soldier Field in Chicago .

He scored his first international goal against Haiti in the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2009 on July 11, 2009 .
