Nederland is a city in the US state of Texas . Nederland is the Dutch name for the Netherlands . The coat of arms is adorned with tulips .

history
The place was founded in 1897 by Dutch settlers; hence its name comes from. Many residents still have Dutch names and are learning Dutch . In 1948 the place was declared a city. Hurricane Ike devastated the city in 2008.
