The Dawson Peak is a distinctive, ice-free and 2,070 m high mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It rises 8 km southwest of Mount Picciotto in the Queen Elizabeth Range of the Transantarctic Mountains .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1966 after John A. Dawson, aurora researcher for the United States Antarctic Research Program at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in 1958.
