Philip DeGuere

Philip DeGuere Jr. (Born July 19, 1944 in Cincinnati , Ohio , † January 24, 2005 in San Francisco ) was an American screenwriter .

life and work

DeGuere studied communications at Stanford University and graduated in 1966. He then became a screenwriter at Universal Pictures , working with noted writers Roy Huggins , Donald P. Bellisario, and Stephen J. Cannell .

He made successful television series such as Simon & Simon (1981 to 1988), JAG and Navy CIS ( NCIS ). He also worked on remakes of The Twilight Zone , Air America and Max Headroom .

As a director, he only appeared three times: First, in 1977/1978 he staged two episodes of the series Luftgeschwader Black Sheep , followed by the comic adaptation Dr. Strange , which was created for television in 1978 and produced as the pilot of an unrealized series. In 1986/1987 he turned two more episodes of the series Twilight Zone .

DeGuere died of complications from cancer , leaving behind his wife Alison and three children.
