Stephen Joseph Cannell (born February 5, 1941 in Los Angeles , California - †  September 30, 2010 in Pasadena , California) was an American film producer , screenwriter , writer , actor and director .

Life

Cannell grew up in Pasadena, where he also went to school. Since he was dyslexic , he was considered a rather mediocre student at the time, so that he was particularly uncomfortable with the subject of English. Still, he finished high school and attended the University of Oregon .

Soon he began writing scripts and developing ideas for television productions. So he was able to sell story ideas for Kobra in 1966 (Mission: Impossible) and in 1968 his first script for your performance, Al Mundy (It Takes a Thief) .

Together with Frank Lupo , Cannell developed, among other things, the television series Das A-Team and acted as producer on the film adaptation Das A-Team - Der Film , which appeared in 2010 .

Stephen J. Cannell had been married to his childhood sweetheart Marcia Finch since August 1964. The couple originally had four children, two sons and two daughters. However, their eldest child, son Derek, died in a recreational accident in 1981 at the age of 15.

Cannell died at the age of 69 years of his cancer .
