De Liemers (officially F112 ) is a cycle expressway in the region of the same name in the south of the Dutch province of Gelderland . The cycle path runs from Zevenaar to Arnhem mainly parallel to the Dutch section of the Oberhausen – Arnhem railway line and has been accessible since it opened on March 31, 2016.

construction

The rapid cycle route largely follows the course of an existing bicycle route. On De Groeneweg in the area of the municipality of Zevenaar , the route extends a few meters after the intersection with the Methen street in an arc to the south, which is why an additional cycle path was built along the railway line. In addition, the road surface was renewed on some sections. Furthermore, it was decided to take some traffic safety measures. For example, a bridge was built over the Rivierweg in Westervoort . The construction work took two years and was completed with the opening on March 31, 2016. The construction project is said to have cost around 3.2 million euros. Those responsible include the municipalities of Arnhem , Duiven, Westervoort and Zevenaar, the province of Gelderland , Rijkswaterstaat and Fietsersbond . In the future, a tunnel is also to be created below the Zuidsingel in Duiven .

Like the RijnWaalpad , the De Liemers route is illuminated by street lamps in the form of the logo of the cycle expressways.
