background

The hardcore label Dead Serious Records emerged in 2000 from the music label "Keep It Alive Records", which specializes in straight edge hardcore. It was founded by Ben Gottschalk and Andreas Werner.

At the beginning mainly European and national bands were signed. In 2002 Andreas Werner left Dead Serious Records. Jessica Pressmann became the new business partner. In 2002 Dead Serious got a new line of business, Dead Serious Distribution (DS Distribution), an online shop with an attached B2B platform. This branch of business was sold in February 2008, the new managing director of Dead Serious Distribution was Father Christian Braga Morgado. After the change of managing director in 2008, the label could no longer build on the success of previous years. The record and distribution company Dead Serious Records has not been active on the market since March 2013.

The label Dead Serious Records has firmly established itself in the hardcore scene with releases from international hardcore giants such as Madball , Sick of It All , Raw Deal , Breakdown , Outburst, On the Rise, First Blood , Terror , 100 Demons , Merauder and a few others more.

At the end of 2016, the old founders Ben Gottschalk and Andreas Werner took over the music record company again and were able to win Soulfood as a sales partner before the business was resumed and left Cargo Records . First releases since the takeover are, besides the European hardcore giants, releases by bands like Madball and Hazen Street . The focus of the work is now only on the pure label work and is part of the business strategy. There is no separate online shop with a B2B platform.
