100 Demons is an American metalcore and hardcore punk band from Waterbury , Connecticut , that was formed in 1998.

history

The band was formed in 1998 by drummer Rich Rosa and guitarist Jeremy "Bubba" Braddock. In the same year the demo We Are Forsaken followed , whereupon the guitarist Sean Martin and the bassist Jay McGuire could be heard. A short time later Bruce LePage joined the band as the new singer and Steve Karp as the new bass player, while Rick Brayall joined the line-up as the second guitarist. In 2000, the debut album In the Eyes of the Lord followed on Goodlife Recordings . Then singer LePage left the band again and was replaced by Pete Morcey through further changes in the line-up of the singer. Under the direction of producer Zeus , the band recorded then in the Planet Z Studios their self-titled second album, which in the year 2004 on Deathwish Inc. has been sold. Erik Barret was the new bass player. In November 2004 she performed with Donnybrook and Cast Aside in the USA and Mexico . In January of the following year the band held gigs with Champion , Outbreak and Down to Nothing , before concerts with Cast Aside and The Dreams You Die In followed in November. On November 1st, however, the band announced that for personal reasons they could not hold any further tours until further notice. In 2006 singer Pete Morcey left the band, after which LePage returned to the band. However, this should only be short-lived, as he left the band in mid-2007 and was again replaced by Morcey. This was followed by occasional concerts and performances at various festivals.

style

The band played hardcore punk on their debut album, which was also partially interspersed with metal elements. Characteristic are on the album, especially the use of double bass , and the use of guitar solos . The album can be compared to the works of Hatebreed or Pro-Pain's release The Truth Hurts . On their self-titled album, the band played a mix of metallic and classic hardcore. The use of breakdowns is also characteristic. In addition, elements from rock music are occasionally used. The vocals on the album are reminiscent of Pro-Pain. In Metal Hammer the album is described as a mixture of Hatebreed, Madball and Biohazard . It would also please both NYHC fans and metalcore listeners.
