Death on Two Legs (Dedicated to…) is a song by the British rock group Queen . It was written by their singer Freddie Mercury and opened as the first song of the 1975 album A Night at the Opera .

text

The song is dedicated to Queen's former manager and co-owner of Trident Studios , where Queen recorded, and dedicated - in a negative sense - to Norman Sheffield , who, according to the members, exploited the band and did not give them the equipment they needed to produce their pieces , has given. Among other things, they complained that they produced one hit after another but saw no money from it while the managers were seen driving their stretch limousines . ("You see them [the management] running around in stretch limos and think 'hang on there's something not right here!'")

The split occurred under very bitter circumstances, with the song being seen as the band's last word on the subject. Mercury didn't like this song very much because after he had written the song, he thought that the lyrics were a bit too harsh on her former acquaintance, but May suggested that he publish the song anyway.
