Trivia

The film was originally scheduled to be released in Texas under the title The best little whore . Contrary to the title, the film is not set in Dallas, nor does Debbie have sex with anyone in Dallas. Various scenes from the film were filmed in the Pratt Institute Library in Brooklyn , New York without the knowledge or approval of the administration. The film led to a number of sequels and offshoots such as Debbie Does New Orleans and Debbie Does Wall Street , each with different contemporary actresses. In 2001, Debbie Does Dallas was awarded 14th place in a list of the best porn of all time by the US industry magazine AVN.

musical

In 2002, Debbie Does Dallas was performed as a musical comedy. Unlike the original video, the musical does not contain any sex scenes.

Litigation

The film with Bambi Woods was the subject of litigation in 1979 "Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Inc. v. Pussycat Cinema, Ltd ". The subject of complaint was the use of cheerleading uniforms that look very similar to those of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. In addition, the film advertisement showed the main character in the uniform with statements such as "Starring Ex-Dallas Cowgirl Cheerleader Bambi Woods." The plaintiff, Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, Inc. claimed trademark protection on the combination of colors and patterns typical for their uniforms. The court upheld the lawsuit and issued an injunction against further distribution of the film. The judgment can be found in the American case law collection Federal Reporter : 604 F.2d 200 (2d Cir. 1979).
