Debora Weber-Wulff
Debora Weber-Wulff (born May 11, 1957 in Butler , Pennsylvania , USA ) is a German computer scientist and university professor . She has been teaching media informatics at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences since 2001 .
Life
Debora Weber-Wulff, a native of the United States, studied applied physics at the University of California, San Diego and from 1976 computer science at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel . As a graduate computer scientist, she worked, among other things, at Norsk Data , from 1989 back in Kiel, from 1991 at the Free University of Berlin and from 1993 as a professor at the Technical University of Berlin . She did her doctorate in 1996 with the topic Contributions to Mechanical Proofs of Correctness for Compiler Front-Ends at the Institute for Computer Science and Practical Mathematics at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel.
Since 2010 Debora Weber-Wulff has been an appointed member of the expert commission to review the appointment practice in the state of Brandenburg .
Weber-Wulff is committed to countering plagiarism at universities. She is the author of the online self-study course Finding Stranger Feathers , which makes it easier to identify plagiarism. She works under the name WiseWoman ( Wise Woman ) on the VroniPlag Wiki and since 2004 on Wikipedia.
Awards
In 2018 she was made a Fellow of the Society for Computer Science.
