Deborah Kahn-Harris

Rabbi Deborah Kahn-Harris is the principal of Leo Baeck College , one of the world's leading rabbinical seminars for liberal Judaism and a center for the training of Jewish religious teachers at the Sternberg Center in Finchley in the London Borough of Barnet . She was appointed to the position in September 2011. Kahn-Harris, a college graduate, is one of the first female rabbis to lead a rabbinical seminary.

Origin and education

Kahn-Harris grew up in Houston, Texas . She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Mount Holyoke College , Massachusetts and a PhD in Biblical Studies from Sheffield University .

Private

She is a US and British citizen and is married to author , lecturer and music critic Keith Kahn-Harris, with whom she has two children.
