Deborah Stedman-Scott, Baroness Stedman-Scott OBE DL FRSA (born November 23, 1955 in Paddington , London ) is a British manager and politician of the Conservative Party , who has been a Life Peeress member of the House of Lords since 2010 .

Life

After attending Ensham Secondary School for Girls, Deborah Stedman-Scott attended Southwark Technical College and Salvation Army Training College and was then employed by the National Westminster Bank from 1972 to 1976. After serving with the Salvation Army between 1978 and 1983 , she worked for the Royal Tunbridge Wells Chamber of Commerce until 1984 . She then started working for the private recruitment agency Tomorrow’s People Trust Ltd and was a development manager for Hastings from 1984 to 1986 and then manager for the Kent and Sussex area before being manager for the East Sussex area from 1988 to 1993. From 1993 to 1995 she was director of this company for national operations and from 1995 to 2005 director. She has been Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tomorrow's People Trust Ltd since 2005 .

In 2008 she was accepted as an officer in the Order of the British Empire . By a letters patent dated July 16, 2010, she was raised to the nobility as a life peeress with the title Baroness Stedman-Scott , of Rolvenden in the County of Kent . Shortly thereafter carried their introduction ( Introduction ) as a member of the House of Lords . She also became a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and is also a trustee of the New Devon Opera and 2007 Deputy Lieutenant of East Sussex .
