Decius Vibellius
Decius Vibellius was a Campanian knight from the Vibellian family who was believed to have been settled in Capua .
He was entrusted with the high command of the Campanian Legion , which was founded by the consul Publius Valerius Laevinus around 282 BC. Because of the Pyrrhos war was placed as a Roman protective power in the city of Rhegion . After some time he abused his position here by ruling the city around 280 BC. Took possession of it arbitrarily.
He was after the capture of the city, probably by the consul Gaius Genucius Clepsina in 270 BC. BC, together with the rest of the Legio Campana to Rome , where he evaded his public execution in the forum by suicide .
