Degitu Azimeraw Asires ( Amharic ደጊቱ አዝመራው ; * January 24, 1999 ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner .

Athletic career

Degitu Azimeraw gained her first international experience at the 25 km road race in Calcutta in 2017, where she won in 1:26:01 h. The following year she won the Gifu Seiryū Half Marathon in 1:09:53 h and in 2019 she won the silver medal behind her compatriot Yalemzerf Yehualaw at the African Games in Rabat in 1:10:31 h . On October 20, 2019, she triumphed in the Amsterdam Marathon with a course record of 2:19:26 h.
