Dehydrocyclization

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Under dehydrocyclization is meant the catalytic formation of aromatics from alkanes , releasing hydrogen , such as in catalytic reforming .

reaction

The catalytic formation of toluene from heptane starts at two different catalytic centers. The cyclization preferably takes place at the acid centers and the dehydrogenation reactions at the metal centers . Cyclization of n- heptane to methylcyclohexane or 1,2-dimethylcyclopentane
