Delano Hill (born April 25, 1975 in Rotterdam ) is a former Dutch football player . He is also a Surinamese citizen.

Career

The 1.91 m tall left defender began his career with Neptunus Rotterdam and PSV Eindhoven . He moved to FC Den Bosch in 1995 , for which he only played a year and then moved to RKC Waalwijk . He came to Hansa Rostock in summer 2001 via Willem II Tilburg and played in the Bundesliga there . Hansa transferred two million DM (around 1.02 million euros) to Willem II Tilburg for him . In his first season, Hill played 21 times in the Bundesliga, in the first half of the following season only four times. His coach Armin Veh complained that he did not impose himself in training. However, after Jochen Kientz was injured and Michal Kovář was no longer convinced, he fought for a regular place in Hansa's defense. In the next one and a half seasons Hill was only two games missing. In a total of four seasons for Mecklenburg, he came to 96 Bundesliga games and scored three goals. After relegation with Rostock in the 2004/05 season , he left the club despite an ongoing contract and went to the Austrian Bundesliga for FK Austria Wien for 400,000 euros . With Austria Wien he won the Austrian championship and the cup in 2006, but was only used sporadically.

In January 2007 Hill returned to Willem II Tilburg before moving to Al-Wakrah SC in Qatar after a year and a half and 35 games in the summer of 2008 . There he played until 2009. He moved to the Dutch amateur club VV Haaglandia , where he ended his career shortly afterwards.
