Bamidele "Dele" Mathew Aiyenugba (born November 20, 1983 in Jos ) is a Nigerian soccer goalkeeper .

Career

Aiyenugba began playing football at Nigerian club Kwara United before moving to FC Enyimba in 2001 . Here he was - as later in the Nigerian national team - representative of Vincent Enyeama . In 2001, 2002 and 2003 the goalkeeper was able to celebrate the championship title in Nigeria with the club. He was also able to win the CAF Champions League in 2003 with a victory in the final against the Egyptian club Ismaily SC . This success was repeated in 2004 and the African Supercup was also won that year. By winning the African Champions League twice, Aiyenugba achieved a certain fame, especially since Enyeama was only used as a "penalty killer" in these tournaments.

In 2007 Aiyenugba joined the Israeli club Bne Jehuda Tel Aviv , where he again acts as a substitute for Enyeama.

He played his first international match for Nigeria on November 16, 2005 in a game against Romania . As a result, he was called irregularly, but performed well when deployed. Aiyenugba was the third goalkeeper in the Nigerian squad for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and, as expected, was not used.
