Delia Smith CH CBE (born June 18, 1941 in Woking , Surrey , England ) is a British television cook and author .

Life

Smith was born in England in 1941. Her first television appearances were on BBC East with the regional magazine BBC Look East. She was best known for her TV appearances on How to Cook and Delia Smith's Summer Collection. One of her best-selling books was Delia Smith's Winter Collection, published in 1995 ; it has sold over 2 million copies, making it one of the UK's best-selling cookbooks in the 1990s.
