Dietrich Simon (legal scholar)

Dietrich Viktor Simon (born May 26, 1936 in Rastatt ) is a German lawyer and university professor .

Life

After studying law, he passed his first state examination in law, his doctorate in 1964 in Freiburg im Breisgau with the dissertation of the concept and facts of the 'Iniuria' in ancient Roman law , the second state examination and his habilitation in 1974. He became a private lecturer at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau , and in 1975 scientific advisor and professor at the University of Göttingen . On June 10, 1988 he was elected President of the University of Marburg . He also taught as a professor in Jena .

His main areas of activity are civil law and Roman law.
