Delivery (band)
Delivery was a British blues rock and progressive rock band. It was formed in the late 1960s, and after Delivery broke up, various band members were active in bands on the Canterbury scene .
Band history
Founded by guitarist Phil Miller , his older brother, pianist Steve Miller , drummer Pip Pyle and bassist Jack Monck under the name "Brunos Blues Band", the group played concerts in the London area for several years . In 1968 the experimental saxophonist Lol Coxhill joined, and the band name changed to "Steve Miller's Delivery", which translated means "Steve Miller's message". In 1969 the band joined forces with blues singer Carol Grimes , and bassist Roy Babbington replaced Monck.
This line-up recorded an album in 1970: Fools Meeting . Although Grimes wanted to be seen as a simple member of the band, the record company released the album as "Carol Grimes and Delivery". In 1971 Pyle left the band and initially became a member of Gong for some time , his place being taken by drummer Laurie Allan . Shortly thereafter, Delivery broke up. In 1972 and 1973 there were two short reunions, again with different line-ups.
