Carol Grimes

Carol Ann Grimes (born April 7, 1944 in Lewisham , London ) is a British singer and songwriter who has also emerged in the field of blues rock and jazz .

Life

Grimes initially worked as a street musician. She then performed with numerous guitarists and harmonica players before forming her band Race , which accompanied blues musicians and also toured mainland Europe. She recorded her first album with the band Delivery , of which she was a member from 1969 to 1971. In 1972 she founded Uncle Dog with Dave Skinner . In the mid-1970s she recorded an album in the United States with The London Boogie Band . Almost at the same time she began her solo career with the album Warm Blood . In 1982 she founded the band Sweet Crocodiles ; since 1984 she has been touring with Eyes Wide Open . In 1995 she toured with the British singer Najma Akhtar . With the choir The Shout she interpreted songs by Orlando Gough and Richard Chew .
