Skat ( Bayer designation : Delta Aquarii , abbreviated δ Aqr ) is a main-sequence star in the constellation Aquarius , which is about 160 light-years from the sun away. It belongs to the spectral class A3V and has an apparent magnitude of 3.27 mag.

The clearly visible star belongs to the so-called bear current , a loose cluster of about 150 stars distributed over half the sky, the brightest of which form the Big Dipper constellation . Our sun is on the edge of this group, but is moving in a different direction.

The radiant of a swarm of falling stars , the July or Delta aquariids, that appear every summer is located near it .
