Delta Motor Group is a multi-brand automobile dealer based in Espoo , Finland . The holding company emerged from the Konela company .

history

The company's origins go back to November 1937. In the 1970s, Konela was one of the leading automobile dealers in Finland with Lada vehicles . At the beginning of the 1990s, the Lancia , Fiat and Alfa Romeo brands were added via the subsidiary Italkon Oy .

In 1997 the company was renamed Delta-Auto. On the Internet it operated under the domain of the old name until at least 2002.

Mazda models have been sold through Delta since 2001 . In 2004, Delta introduced the Kia brand to the Finnish market. Fiat imports again ended in September 2009.

From summer 2009 to spring 2010 the company went through bankruptcy proceedings. In 2009, Delta also acquired a British corporation as the new majority shareholder (95%). In 2010, Delta acquired the remaining shares (5%) of its minority shareholder Lada International Ltd.

Mitsubishi (passenger cars and pickups) was added to the portfolio in 2011 . In 2012, Delta stopped selling Lada cars.

In 2018, Delta sold the distribution of the Kia and Mitsubishi brands to Bergé Auto . The brands Opel (via Delta-Auto) and BMW are currently also managed via the subsidiary Delta Bavaria.

In 1999 the company had 443 employees and an annual turnover of 192 million euros. Sales in 2016 amounted to EUR 543 million with 560 employees. In the following year (2017) the company generated sales of around EUR 400 million.

In 2018 Delta Auto had 20 offices.

The Delta portfolio also included commercial vehicles from Iveco and Irisbus . Delta Trucks Oy, a truck import subsidiary, started operations in 2002 and continued to operate until early 2010 when it was acquired by Raskone Oy.
