Gökhan Saki (born October 19, 1983 in Schiedam , the Netherlands ) is a Dutch-Turkish kickboxer and mixed martial arts fighter.

Career

Saki made his K-1 debut on May 13, 2006 at the "K-1 World Grand Prix 2006 in Amsterdam ", where he defeated Alexey Ignashov in the quarter-finals and Rani Berbachi in the semi-finals, before losing to Björn Bregy by knockout. in the first round in the tournament finals.

In 2008 Saki won the "K-1 World Grand Prix 2008 in Hawaii" tournament. This victory brought Saki a place in the last 16 of the K-1 World Grand Prix Final 2008. On September 27, Saki was drawn against the New Zealander Ray Sefo . He won after four rounds by unanimous decision. Moving up to the final eight on December 6, Saki won against Ruslan Karaev in the quarterfinals before losing to eventual winner Remy Bonjasky by a technical knockout in the second round.

Saki fought in 2009 in the K-1 for the heavyweight title and lost to Kyōtarō Fujimoto in the final. In a reserve fight at the finals of the K-1 World Grand Prix Final 2009 he met Peter Aerts . He lost by unanimous decision. On May 29, 2010 Saki met Melvin Manhoef and won by technical knockout in the second round. In the K-1 World Grand Prix Final 2010 on December 11, Saki met Daniel Ghiţă in the quarter-finals and won by winning on points. During the fight, however, he broke his right hand and was defeated in the semi-finals by Alistair Overeem by a technical knockout

On January 28, 2012, Saki met Badr Hari at "It's Showtime 2012 in Leeuwarden" and lost due to a technical knockout in the first round. On December 31, 2012, Saki took part in the sixteen-member Glory Heavyweight Grand Slam. After the semifinals he lost to eventual tournament winner Semmy Schilt . On April 6, 2013 Saki had a rematch against Daniel Ghiţă and won by technical knockout in the second round. In his next fight he lost to Rico Verhoeven by losing points. On April 12, 2014, Saki won the Glory light heavyweight tournament by defeating Nathan Corbett and Tyrone Spong in the final. The title has been made vacant after over a year of inactivity.

Saki made his debut in the Ultimate Fighting Championship on September 23, 2017 in the light heavyweight division against Henrique da Silva and won by knockout in the first round. Saki met Khalil Rountree at UFC 226 on July 7, 2018. He lost the fight to a technical knockout in the first round.
