The place Demircilik is located in the north of the Turkish province of Kahramanmaraş and belongs to the district of Elbistan . Most of the residents have been relocated from Kahramanmaraş and Malatya . The first inhabitants of the village were craftsmen and specialized in iron processing, hence the name Demircilik (Demir = iron).
After the elections on March 27, 1994, Demircilik received town charter. Today it has a grammar school, from which the young people from several villages in the area benefit, thus sparing them the long journey to the city of Elbistan. Demircilik lives today for the most part from livestock farming and agriculture (wheat, sugar beets, apricots and sunflowers).
