Hans Demmelmeier

Hans Demmelmeier (born May 1, 1887 in Angkofen ; † September 5, 1973 in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm ) was a German politician ( CSU ).

Life and work

Demmelmeier initially only completed elementary school . Only after completing his professional training did he attend the humanistic grammar school, where he graduated from high school in Munich in 1914. Then he was a soldier in World War I. After he was released from captivity in 1920 , he studied law and passed the second state examination in 1926. Then he settled as a lawyer in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm. From 1940 to 1944 he served as a soldier during World War II . He was employed in the rank of captain in the Munich driver replacement department. After returning from the war, he worked again as a lawyer.

Demmelmeier had been a member of the Catholic student association KDSt.V. since 1909 . Rheno-Franconia Munich in the CV .

He is the namesake of Hans-Demmelmeier-Strasse in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm.

Political party

Before 1933 Demmelmeier was a member of the Bavarian People's Party (BVP) . In 1946 he joined the Christian Social Union (CSU) in Bavaria .

MP

From 1945 Demmelmeier was a city councilor in Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm and a member of the district council in the Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm district . From 1950 to 1953 he was a member of the state parliament (MdL) in Bavaria .

Demmelmeier was from October 6, 1953 to October 15, 1961 (two electoral terms) member of the German Bundestag (MdB) in the German Bundestag . He represented the Ingolstadt constituency in parliament.

Public offices

In the second half of 1945 Demmelmeier was mayor of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm. He had been appointed to this post by the American occupation forces.

In the 1950s he was a member of the board of the special purpose association of the Pfaffenhofen Agricultural School.
