Demolition ( English = demolition, demolition, destruction ) is an Austrian Thrash Metal band that was founded in Vienna in 1996 .

history

In 1996, drummer Tom Kräutner and guitarist Thomas Pippersteiner decided to create Demolition. Hans-Peter Rapp (bass) and Peter Musch (vocals, guitar) were found as comrades-in-arms and the line-up was completed.

In 1998 the debut album … In the Beginning was released on the in-house label DN Records. This resulted in various performance opportunities for Demolition and the band was allowed to appear in the opening act of numerous international acts.

In 2000 Demolition was signed by a Massacre Records sub-label . The following year, the second album Out of Noland was released , which was recorded in the Czech Hacienda Studio by Milos “Dodo” Dolezal and on which guest musicians such as Stygma IV singer Ritchie Krenmaier participated.

Front man Peter Musch was replaced a year later by Wolf Süßenbeck ( Darkside ). The band thus gained new ideas and implemented them in June 2003 in the Exponent Studio Slovakia ( Hypnös , Krabathor , Darkside, ...) with the new recordings for the album Existence . The album was released by the German label Twilight-Vertrieb and in 2005 the band accompanied Testament on their 10-Days-in-May reunion tour with Susperia , with whom they toured Europe again in the winter of the same year.

During this time Janos Murri, guitarist of the Italian band Resurrecturis, also joined the band and took over the second guitar, initially only on stage, but from 2006 on.

In 2007, the recordings for the fourth album Relict IV , with the current five-man line-up, began in Mario Jezik's Noisehead Studios in Vienna. The album was released again on the German label Twilight-Vertrieb on January 25th, 2008 and was promoted on the European tour that took place in April together with the thrash legends of Death Angel , with Mercenary and Extrema.
