Denis Peisker

Denis Peisker (born on August 13, 1977 in Jena ) is a German environmental engineer and politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). From 2017 to 2020 he was state chairman of the party in Thuringia .

Dennis Peisker was born in Jena in 1977 and grew up in Eisenberg in the Saale-Holzland district . In 1997 he returned to Jena to study and has lived there with his family ever since. Peisker studied environmental technology at the Jena University of Applied Sciences . From 2003 he worked as a research assistant at the Thuringian State Institute for Agriculture (Section Renewable Raw Materials) and from 2008 to 2012 he headed the bioenergy consultancy Thuringia (BIOBETH today part of the Thuringian Energy Agency , ThEGA). Since February 2013 he has been the department head for urban development and the environment for the city of Jena. In 2019, Peisker became managing director of the Thuringia Nature Conservation Foundation , which u. a. takes care of the section of the Green Belt in Thuringia.

According to his own statements, the end of the Red-Greens federal government in 2005 was the reason for him to become a member of B90 / The Greens. Peisker was active in the Jena district executive and was elected to the Jena city council in 2009. From 2010 to 2012 he was also the parliamentary group chairman and honorary councilor for the areas of energy and sustainability. In 2012, the Jena City Council elected him as Head of Urban Development & Environment.

Together with Stephanie Erben, Peisker was spokesman for the regional association of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen in Thuringia from 2017 to 2020 .
