Denis Stuart Rose (born April 6, 1953 in Wiesbaden ) is a German sculptor , sculptor of realism and video and environment artist.

Live and act

Rose studied fine art at the Braunschweig University of Art from 1974 to 1980 . He graduated as a master class student with Roland Dörfler . Rose has been working as a freelancer in Braunschweig and partly in Budapest since 1980 . In 1990 he was a co-founder of the artist group “Braunschweiger Schule der verlorene Figur” (together with Sven Brandes and Hans Wesker). He took part in several symposia. He is a member of the European Dance of Death Association Association Danses Macabres D'Europe e. V.

Rose's works reveal social contradictions. He works in cycles, for example u. a. on the topics of psychiatry, state repression, war, dance of death, the 7 deadly sins. His debates always deal with human existence on the fringes of society. His works became more radical in expression over time.

Since 2017, some of his sculptures have been in the sculpture park of the Wendhausen moated castle .
