Denis Wiktorowitsch Sakharov ( Russian Денис Викторович Захаров ; born April 17, 1984 in Leningrad ) is a Russian handball player . He is two meters long and plays in the right back space .

Denis Sakharov

Denis Sakharov began playing handball at the Saint Petersburg sports school before signing his first professional contract with the affiliated first division club GK Neva St. Petersburg (Russian: "Степан Разин-Нева", "Stepan Razin - Neva"). With strong performances, he recommended himself for the Russian men's national handball team , but when he refused a move to Russian serial champion Medvedi Chekhov , he gambled away this chance (the Russian national coach Vladimir Maximov also trains Medvedi Chekhov). In early 2006, VfL Gummersbach became interested in the player. At first there was talk of a change in summer 2006, but Sakharov then moved to Oberbergische in winter. In the second half of 2006 he was overshadowed by Kyung-Shin Yoon and only scored 9 goals in 11 games. In the summer of 2006, Sakharov suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon, so he was out of the 2006/07 season. Also in the 2007/08 season he hardly got a chance, so he moved to promoted TSV Dormagen in summer 2008, which he left after only one season. In the 2009/10 season he played for the Israeli club Hapoel Rishon LeZion .
