Career

Denis Kuljasch began his career as a hockey player in the third-class Perwaja Liga , in which he was active in the 1999/2000 season for the second team of HK Awangard Omsk . He then played in the following three seasons for their league rivals Gasowik Tjumen and ZSK WWS Samara . The defender then received a contract with HK CSKA Moscow , for which he was active in the Russian Super League for two years . During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft 2004 in the eighth round as a total of 243rd player by the Nashville Predators , for which he however never played. In the summer of 2005, the left shooter moved to the reigning Russian champions HK Dynamo Moscow , for whom he played two more seasons, and with whom he won the IIHF European Champions Cup in 2006. Between 2007 and 2010, Kuljasch was again on the ice for his ex-club HK CSKA Moscow, before he was given up in January 2010 in exchange for two defenders to his home club, HK Awangard Omsk.

In May 2011, Kuljasch was committed by Ak Bars Kazan and completed 118 KHL games for the club in the following two seasons before returning to his home club in May 2013.
