Deniz Çoban (born April 13, 1977 in Çorum ) is a former Turkish football referee .

Career

Çoban passed his referee examination in Konya during his studies in 1998 .

He made his debut in the highest Turkish football league, the Süper Lig , on December 23, 2007. Çoban led the match between Istanbul Başakşehir and Gaziantepspor .

On September 28, 2015, he directed his last football match between Kasımpaşa Istanbul and Çaykur Rizespor . After the encounter, Çoban appeared during a live interview with Rıza Çalımbay by the Turkish pay TV provider Lig TV and apologized in front of the cameras for his wrong decisions. Two days later he tearfully announced his resignation from refereeing.

Private

Çoban was born in Çorum in 1977 , but moved to Amasya, the town where his parents were born, at an early age . Here he went to secondary school for teacher training and quickly got his degree. From 1995 to 1999 he studied in Manisa at the Celal Bayar University . He then continued his master's degree in Konya at the Selçuk Üniversitesi . Since then Çoban has been working as a physical education teacher in Konya .

He is married to a music teacher and has two children ( Ecem born 2003, Hüseyin Denizhan born 2008).
