The monument to Emperor Alexander III. of Russia ( Russian Памятник императору всероссийскому Александру III ) was erected in 2017 in Liwadija by the sculptor Andrei N. Kovalchuk . The monument stands on the site of the Small Livadia Palace , which was a popular resort for Alexander III. was. The Tsar died here in 1894. The palace was destroyed in 1942 during the war .

The massive, almost 4 m high, bronze sculpture shows the tsar sitting on a tree stump , leaning on a shashka . The sculpture stands on a marble plinth on which the most famous saying of Alexander III is written: "У России есть только два союзника - её армия и флот", so Russia has only two allies - the army and the navy . Behind the sculpture is a relief showing the Tretyakov Gallery , the Cathedral of Christ the Savior , the Mosin-Nagant , the Moshaisky airplane and other motifs. The relief is crowned with the sculpture of the double-headed eagle .

The monument was unveiled on November 18, 2017 in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin .

Near the monument is the memorial to Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill .
