The Dennery River is a river in the Dennery Quarter on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia .
geography
The river has its source at a height of about 140 m in the center of the island, in the valleys of the Morne Panache . It initially flows in a south-easterly direction, but turns after about a kilometer to the northeast, where after a short distance at Errard a tributary forms the Sault Falls . The Dennery then continues in a large arc to the northeast, where it crosses under the Castries-Vieux Fort Highway , flows south from Dennery and flows into the Caribbean Sea in Dennery Bay . Dennery is partially built on the flood plain of the river, which has resulted in more frequent floods in the past. In 2012 there was also a warning that the river's water was contaminated with bacteria.
