Dennis Radtke (born April 29, 1979 in Bochum - Wattenscheid ) is a German politician (CDU) and a member of the European Parliament . Radtke belongs to the Group of the European People's Party and is the coordinator of his group in the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL).

Dennis Radtke was born on April 29, 1979 in Wattenscheid, a district of Bochum. He is the middle of three brothers, married and has one daughter.

After graduating from high school in 1998, he trained as an industrial clerk at the medium-sized company Dr. C. Otto Feuerfest GmbH in Bochum. Since then he has been a member of the Mining, Chemical and Energy Industrial Union (IG BCE). During his time as an industrial clerk, he was active in the union's youth and trainee representation. From 2006 to 2008 he completed a trainee program at IG BCE to become a trade union secretary and then worked in this position for ten years until he entered the European Parliament, most recently as district manager in Moers, North Rhine-Westphalia.

Until 2002, Radtke belonged to the SPD . Today he is a member of the CDU and its Christian Democratic Workers Association (CDA). From 2007 to 2014 he was national chairman of the Young CDA in Germany. He has been a member of the CDA federal board since 2007. From 2013 to 2019 he was the first deputy state chairman of the CDA NRW and from 2013 to 2019 district chairman of the CDA Ruhrgebiet, the largest regional association of the CDA in Germany. Since 2012 he has been a member of the state board of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) North Rhine-Westphalia. From 2016 to 2017 he was a member of the federal technical committee “Labor and Social Affairs” of the CDU in Germany. Since 2016 he has been a member of the Federal Committee "Europe" of the CDU in Germany. On February 2, 2019, Radtke was elected state chairman at the 34th state conference of the CDA North Rhine-Westphalia in Bad Sassendorf. He succeeds Ralf Brauksiepe in this office. On May 18, 2019, Radtke was elected Deputy Federal Chairman of the CDA Germany at the CDA Bundestag meeting in Essen.

Dennis Radtke has been a member of the association assembly of the Ruhr Regional Association (RVR), the "Ruhr Parliament" , since 2008 .

He has been a member of the European Parliament since July 24, 2017: When Herbert Reul moved as Minister of the Interior to the North Rhine-Westphalian state government, he moved up as a member of the European Parliament via the North Rhine-Westphalia CDU state list.

In the 8th electoral term of the European Parliament (2014-2019) he was a member of the Committees for Employment and Social Affairs (Member) and Industry, Research and Energy (Deputy Member) and a member of the Delegation for Relations with the Korean Peninsula (Member) and the Delegation for relations with the United States (alternate member). In addition, Radtke was the shadow rapporteur of his EPP group for the directive on transparent and reliable working conditions.

In the European elections on May 26, 2019, Radtke was re-elected to the European Parliament via the CDU state list of North Rhine-Westphalia (5th place). In the 9th electoral term of the European Parliament (2019-2024) he is a member of the Committees for Employment and Social Affairs (Member) and Industry, Research and Energy (Deputy Member) and a member of the Delegation for Relations with the Korean Peninsula (Member) and the Delegation for relations with Japan (alternate member). On July 23, 2019, Radtke was elected to coordinate his EPP parliamentary group in the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL).
