Denouncement Pyre is an Australian death and black metal band from Melbourne , which was founded in 2003 under the name Eradictor .
history
The band was founded in 2003 under the name Eradictor. After Chris "Volcano" Broadway joined the band from Abominator as a drummer, J. Eradicator switched to electric guitar and the name was changed to Denouncement Pyre. After a demo under the name The Storm to End All Wars , a live album called Barbaric Vengeance: Live 14/2/05 followed in mid-2005 . Meanwhile, the group was working on their first EP , which was released in 2006 under the name Under the Aegis of Damnation on Apocalyptor Records . In the middle of the same year, a second called Hells Infantry joined Forgotten Wisdom Productions . The latter EP was re-released in January 2008 as a split record with the New Zealand band Diocletian under the name Chaos Rising at Forgotten Wisdom Productions. Another EP was also recorded in early 2008 and was released later that year, entitled Circle of the Black Flame . The first two albums were released via Hells Headbangers Records in 2010 and 2013 under the names World Cremation and Almighty Arcanum . The band now consists of guitarist and singer D., bassist R. Prain, drummer Luke "L." Wilson and live guitarist Rhys "M." Mathew.
style
Robert Müller from Metal Hammer described the band's music as a mixture of black, death and thrash metal . Goat from metalreviews.com wrote about World Cremation that it was a mixture of Black and Death Metal with a slight Grindcore touch. You can hear the band that the members have already gained experience in other groups. The song The Flesh of Thy Master sounds influenced by Satyricon . Overall, the music can be compared to that of Belphegor and Angelcorpse . Rebecca Böhning from Legacy described the music on Almighty Arcanum as a mixture of death and black metal. The songs are usually very fast, which is mainly caused by the drums.
