Department for Transport, Energy and Infrastructure (also DTEI for short , before Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure , DPTI ) is the road and traffic authority in South Australia , Australia . It is responsible for the maintenance, expansion and operation of the nationwide road network. In addition to road traffic, the authority is also responsible for ports, boat docks, airports, rail and local public transport.

The DPTI is responsible for 25% of the road network in South Australia. It comprises 13,000 kilometers of paved and 10,000 kilometers of unpaved roads. The remaining 75%, around 75,000 kilometers, are operated and maintained by the Local Government Areas or the national road construction authority.
