1912-1913 in the corner of Kirchstrasse, representative plastered building with corner tower, representative of the reform style around 1910/15, importance in terms of local development and building history

The building was built in 1912/13 on behalf of Katharina Maria Klemenz according to plans by the Leipzig architect Heinrich Rust, and the veranda was converted in 1921. Enclosure from 1921. The high-quality two-storey building with a high pitched roof, designed in the reform style of the time, is characterized by an asymmetrical, picturesque structure design. The diversified external appearance corresponds to the refined floor plan solution with interlaced rooms, in which interesting expansion situations arise through additions. Bay windows and projections as well as a structured roof landscape determine the picture. The design intentions of reform architecture around 1910/15 also included the conscious withdrawal of architectural jewelry. The façades are largely smoothly plastered above a high base made of embossed sandstone blocks. Only individual structural elements are emphasized by decor (partly figurative, partly stylized vegetal forms). The somewhat younger enclosure consists of a base and posts in plastered masonry and wooden fence panels. The villa refers to the structural development of Alt-Markkleeberg in the early 20th century, when the formerly small village was discovered as a preferred location for high living standards. From then on, villas like this property were part of the Alt-Markkleeberg townscape. In this sense, the villa embodies an informative value in terms of local development. As a very high quality example of villa architecture around 1910/15, it is also of importance in terms of architectural history. In addition, the building refers to the work of the architect Heinrich Rust, who, together with his partner Alfred Müller, carried out important building projects such as the congress hall and the Michaeliskirche in Leipzig. LfD / 2011 Villa: 2 storeys, expanded attic, plastered facade, two-storey porch with concave curved sides and stucco reliefs on the front, entrance porch, polygonal corner tower from the time of construction: front door, porch door, wall panels in the porch, stairwell enclosure: rendered plinth and posts, wooden fence and gate. 1929-1930 Wooden house, rare example for the region of prefabricated wooden buildings by Christoph & Unmack (Niesky), significance in terms of local development and building history

1929/30 built timber structure by Christoph & Unmack AG from Niesky, the client was the businessman Harry Levin. The construction was carried out by the Leipzig construction company Arthur Friedrich. The gable-facing building consists of a massive brickwork substructure, the ground floor in "Nordic block construction" made of standardized planks and the top floor in a half-timbered construction connected to the roof. On the west side is a veranda extension with an exit in the attic, on the east side there is the house entrance with a narrow porch. Typical for the appearance of the standardized wooden houses by Christoph & Unmack are the wooden structure, the red-brown paintwork and the shutters. In keeping with the rural character of the house, the enclosure is designed as a picket fence, the fence posts are made of concrete, the gate and driveway have pillars in clinker brickwork. The house is a testament to the structural development of Alt-Markkleeberg in the first half of the 20th century. It is part of the housing estate that was built around 1910/15 east of Bornaische Straße and shows how in the 1920/30 years of the Demand for upscale development for this area was implemented. In this sense, the object has expressiveness in terms of local development. As an example of the standardized, industrial timber house construction of the globally significant company Christoph & Unmack (Niesky), which has been excellently preserved in the historical inventory, it is also of great architectural significance. It documents the spread of the wooden houses by Christoph & Unmack, although not a large number of these buildings are known for the West Saxon area, so that a rarity can be noted here. LfD / 2014

1912 largely originally preserved plastered building in reform style around 1910/15, significance in terms of local development and building history

The house was built in 1912 based on a design by the renowned Dresden architecture firm Lossow & Kühne. It is a two-story cubic building with a hipped roof. The facades have a yellow-colored fine plaster, the central axis protrudes like a bay on the street front. In accordance with the design principles of reform architecture around 1910/15, structuring and decorative elements are only used very cautiously and accentuated. Such accentuating details are, for example, the plaster relief on the main facade or the painting of the eaves with stylized ornament. Overall, the noble effect of the building is based primarily on its proportions, the high-quality design of the details and the solid execution. The entrance to the house, which can be reached via an outside staircase, is on the east side, above the arched window of the stairwell. On the south side (garden side) side elevation and on the west side a small veranda. The external appearance is also enlivened by shutters, which are only partially preserved. The fencing on the west side is bricked and plastered, originally a wooden slatted field inserted at the top, gate system with plastered posts and wooden gate wings. The house refers to the structural development of Alt-Markkleeberg in the early 20th century. It is part of the housing estate that was built around 1910/15 east of Bornaische Strasse. On behalf of well-off Leipzig citizens, villas and apartment buildings were built here for high demands. In this sense, the object has expressiveness in terms of local development. At the same time, it refers to the work of the Dresden architects Lossow & Kühne in the area of residential and villa construction and thus gains importance in terms of building history. Lossow & Kühne were among the outstanding Saxon architects of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. LfD / 2011 Residential building: 2 floors, plastered facade with simple plaster structure, polygonal central projection, painted eaves cornice, putto relief, shutters, front door and windows, some of them original . (map)
1911-1912 in the corner of Lindenstrasse, a picturesque structure in the style of reform architecture around 1910/15, the home and studio of the sculptor Adolf Lehnert (1862-1948), in the adjoining building formerly the studio, significance in terms of local development, building history and art history

Built in 1911/12 as a house with a studio for the sculptor Adolf Lehnert, the building was planned by the Leipzig architect Karl Poser. It is a one-and-a-half-story building with a high, extended saddle roof. In accordance with the principles of reform architecture from around 1910/15, the façades have only a few accentuated decorative shapes. The architecture lives primarily from the refined structure of the building and the arrangement of tastefully designed individual elements, e.g. B. the round bay window with copper cladding. Veranda extension on the south side, in front of it a covered entrance with an outside staircase, on the upper floor balcony over the veranda. The single-storey annex building to the east of the residential building was originally the studio of the sculptor Adolf Lehnert. This function can be seen from the large steel frame windows bent in the eaves area. The enclosure of the property consists of a base and posts in stone and wooden fence panels, on the street corner a three-part, solid piece of wall with round openings. As the living and working place of Adolf Lehnert, who was one of the most important and busiest sculptors of his time in Leipzig, it is a document for regional art and cultural history. As an artist's house, it is also relevant in terms of building typology. Furthermore, it represents an important monument value for the history of architecture in general. The planner of the building Karl Poser was one of the most innovative Leipzig architects in the early 20th century. With its outstanding quality, the Lehnert house is an example of Poser's high creative potential.
