The north-west landfill is a 40 m high former garbage dump on the northern city limits of Munich in the Freimann district .

geography

The landfill mountain is located on the Munich - Nuremberg motorway (A9) , north of the Allianz Arena and northwest of 562  m above sea level. NN high Fröttmaninger mountain .

Reuse

After the cessation of the landfill operations, a wind power plant with a total height of around 150 m will be built there, as on its neighboring mountain. Construction has started. It is scheduled to go into operation in 2020 and provide energy for an average of more than 2,800 households. A five-hectare photovoltaic park is also planned there.
