Neznašov depot

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Neznašov depot (also known as the Neznašov hoard ) is a depot of the early Bronze Age Aunjetitz culture from Neznašov , a district of Všemyslice in Jihočeský kraj , Czech Republic . It dates between 2000 and 1800 BC. The depot is now in the National Museum in Prague .

Find history

The depot was bought by the National Museum in Prague on July 2, 1888. The exact location and the circumstances of the find are unknown.

composition

The depot consists of four bronze objects : two eyelet neck rings , a fragment of another, recently broken eyelet neck ring and a spike made from a neck ring. The neck rings are unusual because of their narrow, hook-shaped ends. The high tin content of bronze (up to 10%) is also striking .
