The thickness and the Belgian was a Sat.1 - Comedy show from 1998 with the Flemish actor Carry Goossens as the Belgians and Diether cancer than the thickness . In twelve episodes both presented themselves as a comedian duo in various skits , directed by Frank Strecker . The series was based on the Belgian comedy series Gaston and Leo , from which a large part of the skits were also taken over in a revised form.
This was the first German production of Carry Goossens, who through from Belgium coming producer and cameraman Roland Willaert was invited to audition, although Goossens did not speak at the time of the German language.
The two main actors played a wide variety of characters in various everyday situations in around 24 skits per episode. Among other things, they played drunk police officers, mafiosi, tourists and many more. In addition, skits of the Crusaders and No Free Beer for Schröder were featured in all episodes . In addition to the twelve regular episodes, there were two specials, the first having no special title. The second was shown for the first time shortly before the turn of the year 1998-1999 under the name The Fat and the Belgians celebrate New Year's Eve on television.
On April 12, 2007, the series' only season was released in a DVD box.
