Ulf Montanus (born April 8, 1961 in Düsseldorf ) is a German actor , presenter and politician .

Life

Ulf Montanus is the second son of a businessman and an orthodontist from Düsseldorf. In 1981 he graduated from the Institute on the Rosenberg in St. Gallen, Switzerland. After graduating from high school, he spent two years in the armed forces, where he completed an officer training course. In 1990 he was appointed first lieutenant in the reserve. From 1984 to 1986 he trained as a banker, which was followed by training as a radio journalist and presenter in 1986. In 1985 he played a leading role in a semi-professional drama group in the play Konrad or The Child from the Canned Can, and in the same year began his acting training through private lessons and VHS courses. In 1993, with his first television appearance, he had a leading role in the episode, as investigator Georg Lamprecht, in the television series Auf Leben und Tod . In 1991 he trained as an auctioneer and then worked for several years as an auctioneer in auction houses in Düsseldorf, Cologne and Nuremberg. From 2005 to 2014 he was also seen as a teleshop presenter for various television channels. In 2004 he became a member of the FDP. Montanus made his TV debut as Georg Lamprecht in the crime series Auf Leben und Tod (1993). This was followed by guest roles in series such as Stadtklinik , Die Kommissarin , SK-Babies , Der Fahnder , Lindenstrasse , Unter uns , Die Anrheiner , Turnstile Airport , A Lot of Life and Inspector Schimpanski . TV films: as Marcus with Doreen Jacobi in Anna H. - Beloved, Wife and Whore (2000) and as Herr Langen with Alexandra Kamp in Antonia - Between Love and Power (2001). Leading role as tax evader and arms supplier Holger Pfahls in the political crime thriller Aus Liebe zu Deutschland - A donation affair (2003). Also as Giselher Runge in Von Müttern und Töchtern (2006). In 2005 he played the leading role of Police Inspector Manfred in the movie Children of Wax alongside Udo Kier and Armand Assante .

Moderation

From 1986 to 1987 he worked as a journalist and spokesman for live radio editing service in Berlin and Bonn and created colorful reports for the broadcasting stations SWF 1, UFA-RTL, BR, SDR, HR 3, NDR, WDR etc. at the end of the 1980s He moderated events in all industries and then later also worked as a moderator at trade fairs such as CeBIT , DRUPA , LIGNA and the Hanover Fair .

In 2004 he became a member of the FDP Düsseldorf. From 2006 to 2012 he was deputy chairman of the local association 7 (Gerresheim, Ludenberg, Grafenberg, Hubbelrath, Knittkuhl) of the FDP in Düsseldorf. From 2009 to 2017, as a knowledgeable citizen, he was a member of the enlarged parliamentary group of the FDP in Düsseldorf. Since 2009 he has also been a deputy member of the culture committee. From 2011 to 2018 he was on the State Committee for Culture and Media of the FDP NRW. From 2012 to 2020 he was on the board of the FDP in the Düsseldorf district association. From 2013 to 2018 he was also a member of the State Committee for International Politics and from 2013 to 2014 he was a member of the State Committee of Integration, Sport and Leisure of the FDP NRW. From 2013 to 2020 he was on the local board of local association 2 (Flingern, Düsseltal) of the FDP in Düsseldorf, where he was then also the deputy chairman of the local association from 2015 to 2020. In 2014 he was elected as the district representative of the FDP in the districts of Düsseltal and Flingern. Since 2015 he has been a member of the fine arts advisory board of the city of Düsseldorf. In 2017 he was appointed councilor of the state capital Düsseldorf and thus also a member of the parliamentary group of the FDP Düsseldorf. In 2017 he also took over the committees for public institutions and environmental protection for the FDP. In the same year he was appointed head of the small water commission and elected to the supervisory board of the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus. In 2018 he became a member of the Düsseldorf Art Commission and from 2018 to 2020 he was on the supervisory board of the NRW-Forum Düsseldorf. In 2019 he was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Museum Kunstpalast .
