Frank Strecker

Frank Strecker (born June 15, 1941 in Stuttgart ; † March 27, 2000 in Grafing near Munich ) was the son of the popular actor Max Strecker and a German actor , director and author .

Life

Strecker began his career as a broadcaster and assistant director and from 1967 worked for five years as a director for Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR). Since 1972 he has worked as a freelance director, actor and author.

In the late 1970s and 1980s, Strecker played the role of detective chief Richard Wagner in the crime scene series of the then Süddeutscher Rundfunk with Werner Schumacher as Commissioner Lutz.

He directed television games and series, such as Marienhof (ARD), Ein Fall für Zwei (ZDF) and Eine Klasse für sich . For the private television broadcaster RTL , Strecker shot the vacation comedy Always Trouble with Nicole with Corinna Drews , Hans Clarin , Harald Leipnitz , Ottfried Fischer , Dagmar Koller and Hansi Kraus in 1993 .

For the show Here falls a house, there is a crane and the digger tooth threatens forever or the change of the city , he received the 1978 Adolf Grimme Prize in bronze.

Strecker last lived near Munich. He died of cancer at the age of 58 after a serious illness in his home town of Grafing. He was buried in the forest cemetery there. His name was also carved on his father's tombstone at the Bergfriedhof in Stuttgart .
